Emotional Freedom Technique and How It Can Help You

Emotional Freedom Technique, or EFT for short, is a very simple, yet extremely powerful way of restoring energy flow within the body. As the name suggests, it is primarily focused on emotional energy which has become blocked or frustrated within the body, often for many years.

Many of the ongoing physical problems that many people experience often have an emotional element which helped to create the problem and has maintained its existence within an individual. With increased stress, these problems can develop into more deep-seated physical and psychological issues which can cause immense distress to anyone suffering with them.

EFT is an extremely effective way of rectifying that imbalance within an individual, removing the underlying emotional block and thus allowing the body and mind to heal and regain balance more effectively.

EFT involves; identifying key emotional drivers behind any existing problem and then tapping on acupuncture points on the body, which it is believed, by connecting to the nervous system, help us to release the emotional and psychological blockages that have been created. It is based on the theory that by tapping these points, this process releases the energy which has become blocked or interrupted.

Introduction to EFT, Gary CraigIntroduction to EFT, Gary Craig
This is the original video created by Gary Craig to introduce EFT to those who visited his website. It is well worth the 7 minutes it takes to watch it.

Here is an interesting article from the Massachusetts Daily Collegium – You need to try EFT right now : The Massachusetts Daily …  http://dailycollegian.com. EFT did come with all those words like “self-love,” “inner peace,” “confidence” and “acceptance.” I was vaguely aware of how desperately I’ve needed all of that, but it seemed like it was too easy if EFT would bring me all of that …

The fact of the matter is, that no one is 100% sure how this works but that an increasingly grateful number of people are experiencing wonderful outcomes as a consequence of using the therapy.

One belief is that we hold emotional memories at a cellular level and that the process of EFT can access that cellular level and promote healing when the individual is reconnecting consciously with an emotional issue.

Many hypnotherapists now use EFT extensively in their work as a way of “softening up” the condition before applying other strategies. There are now an increasing number of EFT practitioners offering their services to people who have been unable to address their psychological/emotional issues through other means. EFT alone can achieve this rebalancing and in many cases, does not require ongoing treatments.

Here is a useful presentation showing the procedure for tapping –

EFT reduces stress in just a couple of minutes. Give it a try. Kiss stress goodbye.

EFT is simple, painless and does not require anything from the recipient other than an open mind. An individual does not even have to believe in EFT for it to work! This science actually works on a physical level which then promotes healing at an emotional and psychological level and as with all healing, “the mind affects the body and the body affects the mind”.

It is not even necessary to consult an EFT practitioner in order to use the technique. Anyone can follow some of the guidelines referenced in this article and use it on themselves in the comfort and privacy of your own home.

This video, Rod practitioner of EFT, demonstrates the tapping procedure that anyone can do for themselves;

EFT is a wonderful tool, accessible to all and can provide hope and transformation for anyone who has become stuck or has not found a resolution to their issues.

Understanding and Dealing with Anxiety

Dealing with anxiety can be very challenging and unfortunately, more and more people appear to be experiencing a state of anxiety in their everyday lives. This anxiety can lead to full-blown panic attacks when a person is feeling totally out of control with the level of anxiety they are feeling. In addition to this, many people do not talk about the anxiety through fear of being judged in a negative way and so they keep to themselves, all bottled up!

Here is a more in-depth explanation about the different levels of anxiety – Anxiety Disorders: Types, Causes, Symptoms, Diagnosis, Treatment – Learn more about anxiety disorders, including types, causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention.

Being anxious is actually quite normal for a human being, the problems arise when the anxiety turns into excessive worry and deeper fear. We then become anxious about being anxious and so the whole conditioned spirals out of control. Being anxious is part of our “fight or flight” mechanism where, when faced with a challenging situation, the nervous system releases certain hormones to enable us to deal with a real or anticipated challenge to our safety. The problem in the modern world is that this response now gets triggered when there is no real danger and so the body has nothing to do with the physical changes that are happening within.

The increase stress that people are now living under can artificially create this trigger within which automatically puts people in a greater state of fear and anxiety. This may not be a conscious action, and more often than not much of the stress we experience is on a subconscious level. The subconscious mind is a very powerful mechanism that is active all the time and can manifest a state of dis-ease within an individual without them even being aware of it.

What is anxiety?What is anxiety?
In this video Dr David Purves explains why anxiety is a terrible force that destroys your happiness. It puts an edge of fear on every experience and it never seems to be satisfied.

When we don’t take adequate rest and nutrition and prevent the body from resetting itself, anxiety can easily manifest within and suddenly we start to feel and observe the physical sensations of dizziness, palpitations, excessive perspiration, etc that show themselves when we are becoming more anxious. If this is allowed to remain unchecked, a full panic attack can occur.

As with anger, deep unresolved issues from earlier in life can also leave us more predisposed towards becoming more anxious later in life. Everyone is unique and everyone has their own underlying issues and symptoms. The more recent recognized condition of OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) can also be a subsequent manifestation of long-term, previously unresolved issues within the nervous system.

All the problems of the modern world such as; work related issues, financial worries, the stress of life, all contribute towards creating imbalance and stress on the nervous system and this can be the catalyst for excessive anxiety occurring. This can also lead to depressive states of being and physiological disorders such as IBS (Irritable bowel syndrome).

Naturally, anyone suffering with such excessive symptoms should consult their medical practitioner for expert advice. In addition to this, there are many strategies that can be employed to help reduce and in some cases eliminate these unwanted experiences altogether.

An interesting video about how to calm and anxious mind;

Stress is undoubtedly the number-one catalysts for all states of excessive anxiety and fear, and stress management, in all its forms, offers many avenues that can be followed for individual looking for help.

If you are experiencing excessive anxiety, read some of the material referenced in this article and start to reconnect with a greater sense of peace and well-being in your life. Pain and suffering does not have to be the norm and there are always avenues of help available.

Controlling Anger in a Stressful World

So many more people nowadays are experiencing extreme stress like never before and for some people this can manifest itself as uncontrollable anger. People are being pushed to the limits and the frustrated energy that is created as a result of this often appears as anger or rage. But it doesn’t have to be that way!

For many people, the rage and anger that they express is more often than not a reflection of some other in a problem and it is these problems that need to be addressed in order to prevent the anger and rage from appearing.

A difficult start in childhood has been proved to be the root cause of many problems that manifest themselves later on in people’s lives. Unresolved issues that have festered and remain untreated for years and years can create a huge imbalance or “dis-ease” within an individual. This can create a very potent and powerful force that is bursting to come out and will often come out in the form of physical or verbal abuse.

The world in which we now live has become so much more stressful to so many more people that the consequences of this are many-fold. Stress can cause so many imbalances within individual and people can carry on for years without realizing that they are under stress or what the stress is doing to them. Sometimes it takes a crisis for an individual to realize how much stress they have been under for a long time. Naturally, it is much better to seek help for a condition before help has to be forced upon us.

emoticons-154050_640Stress and anger can be made much worse by the abuse on the physical body through substance or alcohol use. Even a poor or inadequate diet can contribute to the problem by creating imbalances within the being. Many fast foods now contain all sorts of chemicals which contribute to physical and therefore emotional and psychological imbalances. We must always remember that the mind affects the body and the body affects the mind and that we are holistic beings and function on many levels.

It’s also important to remember  that it is not just adults that are experiencing this problem  but children and teens as well. Here is an excellent guide relating to this subject for young people – Anger Management Workbook for Kids and Teens by Anita Bohensky, PhD, published 2001, 96 pages

For most people who experience anger problems, the first step is an acceptance and acknowledgement that they have a problem. Only then can an accurate assessment be made of the situation to find the most suitable an appropriate measures to address the situation. Once this is done, the most appropriate therapy can be sought and help move the person back to a state of ease and well-being.

See this guide on anger management – Anger Management For Dummies by W. Doyle Gentry, published 2011, 388 pages

Sometimes anger management therapy is the most appropriate route where the therapist can clearly defined what’s going on within that individual, formulate a strategy to address the issue and help and support the person looking for a resolution.

Sometimes the anger can be a result of deep psychological problems that need psychiatric or psychological counseling to help bring about a healing. Naturally, experienced help is required in such circumstances but there is always hope and always something that can be done to help person in this situation.

How to Improve Your Eyesight Naturally

As we age our whole body starts to deteriorate and we have to look to ways to improve and correct these issues. The most common deterioration experienced by the vast majority of the population is that of vision. Some people are born with poor vision and others acquire this as they age.

To address this issue, we use lenses in various forms as a way to improve the way we see. However, artificial lenses are really only an intermittent fix to the problem and don’t address the vision problem at its root.

Unfortunately, when people start to use lenses, their vision starts to deteriorate because it becomes dependent upon the lenses. As a result of this, we then tend to need ever-increasingly stronger lenses to keep up with the deterioration.

An increasingly more common way of addressing this issue is through the use of laser surgery. However, this can be expensive and is not available to all people and is not always correct the problem.

Increased use of computer screens and artificial lighting have also led to poorer vision as to has increased stress upon the body created by the modern world. Stress can affect us in all sorts of ways and one common manifestation of this is in the strain that our eyes experience as a result.

One of the most effective ways of improving our vision is to actually improve the functioning of our eyes. Most people are fully aware of the need to exercise to keep the body healthy and performing effectively but at the same time, most people never think about the need to exercise their eyes!

Here’s a fantastic publication with some excellent exercises for improving vision – Improve Your Eyesight Naturally: Easy, Effective, See Results Quickly
Leo Angart, published 2005, 239 pages

eye-309608_640By strengthening our eyes and the muscles involved in vision, we can encourage our body to work more effectively, by increasing oxygen to the eyes and our body’s own natural healing ability will, in many cases result in increased and improved vision.

Some of the most simplest eye exercises can be performed by anyone, at any time in the comfort of their own home and if done regularly, can radically improve our eye function and vision.

See this old, but still valid publication explaining the “Bates Method” which was one of the original eye exercises  procedures – Do It Yourself – Natural Eyesight Improvement – Original and Modern Bates … Clark Night, William Bates, published 2011, 456 pages

Another simple exercise is known as the “Dot exercise”. This simply involves staring at a dot or similar mark on a page and continuing to focus on it until it becomes clear. After doing this for a short period of time, we then rest the eyes before opening them again to focus on the dot. You then move the eyes around on the page without focusing on the dot, link them and close them again. You then imagine the dot in your mind before opening your eyes and staring at the dot on the page again. This whole process allows the eyes to focus on an object, relax and then visualize it in your mind. Nobody is quite sure what is happening in this process, suffice to say that it allows us to more easily focus after performing this exercise over a short period of time.

You can perform the same exercise, but this time focusing on a short word rather than a dot. Again, this appears to allow our brain to remember how to see more clearly by some simple retraining.

Another great exercise for the eyes is to use pinhole glasses. These are glasses that look like sunglasses but have a multitude of evenly spaced holes in the dot lenses. When we wear these, our eyes are forced to focus through the holes and this exercises the muscles in the eyes and allows us to see images much more clearly. Some reports suggest that wearing these glasses for 20 min at a time can help to reduce our need for prescription lenses. See this report (Another base publication) – Perfect Sight Without Glasses: The Cure of Imperfect Sight by Treatment …  William H. Bates, published 2013, 480 pages

Check out the following video for yet more natural ways of improving your vision;

Clearly, by exercising our eyes we have an opportunity to regain our optimum vision and to see more clearly again. Some of the answers to our problems can be very simple so it’s important that we don’t underestimate the impact of doing these exercises and take back control of our health and vision!

Save Money and Buy a Used Car

The simple fact of the modern world is that we all need transportation, and most people prefer to have their own car to achieve their transport needs. For short journeys, an increasing number of people are turning towards pushbikes and in some cases public transport, but for the vast majority of people, especially when needing to travel further afield, the car is an absolute necessity.

In difficult economic times, buying a new car becomes a questionable issue. The cost of new cars has become increasingly high and more and more people are considering whether a used car is a more viable and cost-effective option.

The used car market as had quite a negative image in past years and many people immediately think of a untrustworthy car salesman selling them a heap which has been made to look something that it’s actually not under the skin! It has been difficult for car traders to shake off this negative image but a lot of work has been put in to try and properly inform prospective buyers about the integrity of both the used car business and the cars for sale.

Used car prices reach record level in 2014 – Autoblog

Here are 8 ways used car dealers can swindle you

Used carWithout doubt, many car buyers would prefer to buy a new car whenever possible rather than one that’s already been owned before. People still think that a used car is a problem waiting to go wrong but the fact of the matter is that this is just not the case. The increased vibrance of the used car market now means that there are some excellent pre-owned cars, which in many cases are almost as good as new, available at a huge discount to the original forecourt price.

So what are the key issues that need to be thought about when trying to determine whether to buy a pre-owned car or a new car;

Tips and hints and things to look out for when buying a used car.

First and foremost, the most obvious issue is the cost. New cars cost a lot more than pre-owned ones! As soon as a new car leaves the forecourt, its value depreciates very quickly and within a few months of driving, the value has decreased even further. This means that a car that is less than a couple of years old can be purchased significantly cheaper than a brand-new one and if the car has very little mileage on the clock, then this will be an absolute bargain.

There tend to be far more used cars available at the price that’s right for you than brand-new ones. You will have a much more extensive selection to choose from when looking at a pre-owned car then you would if you were looking for a specific model brand-new.

It is now possible to have a pre-owned car examined by professional organizations so that you can be sure that the car is genuine and roadworthy. All documentation will be checked, chassis numbers, and all matters relating to this individual car will be examined and authenticated. The small price that you would pay for this service means that you will have absolute peace of mind and know that you are buying a genuine item.

Many companies and individuals alike, will change their brand-new purchase before a certain time period or mileage is reached. This means that cars are being exchanged simply because it is time to do so and not because there is anything wrong with the vehicle. Again, this means that the next buyer will have access to a vehicle that has had very little use but has been greatly reduced in price from its original value.
